On September 23, the Hong Kong and Macao Education Delegation attending 2025 National Day Celebration visited Nanjing University. Tan Tieniu, Chair of NJU CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, met with the delegation on Xianlin Campus.

Tan Tieniu welcomed the delegation's visit on behalf of NJU. He introduced to the delegation the basic situation of the university regarding its historical development, discipline construction, campus construction, talent cultivation, faculty development, and scientific research innovation. Tan Tieniu pointed out that NJU is a higher education institution with a long history, profound heritage, unique contributions, and enormous potential. In recent years, cooperation between NJU and the Hong Kong and Macao regions has become increasingly close, achieving a series of important results. He expressed hope that the Hong Kong and Macao education sectors would continue to care for and support NJU's educational development, further deepen exchanges and cooperation with NJU, and jointly contribute to enhancing NJU's internationalization level as well as the high-quality development of Hong Kong and Macao.

Chen Bihua, Deputy Secretary of the Education Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, pointed out that NJU has a beautiful campus environment and profound cultural heritage, and hoped that more Hong Kong students could come to NJU to receive education and grow into talents. She expressed that she looked forward to conducting in-depth exchanges around NJU's advanced experience in building "the Unique Nanjing University" through this visit, and that both sides could continuously strengthen cooperation to better fulfill the fundamental task of fostering virtue and cultivating talents, working hand in hand to contribute greater strength to advancing higher education development.

Deng Weiqiang, Director of the Education Resources Department of the Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region, pointed out that over a long period, the Macao education sector has carried out comprehensive and multi-level cooperation with NJU, achieving a series of landmark results. He expressed that facing the future, the Macao education sector and NJU share the important mission of promoting the integrated development of education, talent, and technology, and hoped that both sides could further expand cooperation and exchanges in academic exchanges, industry-university-research integration development, and other areas, jointly creating an even better future.

The attending representatives engaged in in-depth exchanges and discussions around topics such as teaching reform and innovation, talent cultivation, curriculum co-construction, scientific research cooperation, and international exchanges.

On the same day, the delegation also visited Nanjing University's History Museum, Xiangxuehai Garden, Fang Zhaozhou Stadium, Eryuan Square (Square of Two Origins), and other locations.

The symposium was chaired by Lu Yanqing, Vice President of NJU. Responsible officials from relevant departments and offices of NJU participated in the symposium.
